![]() ![]() It was wonderful to hear one of our Aboriginal languages being spoken in the halls of government, and also to hear the valiant efforts to use both our official languages by a lady who has been criticized for her lack of French. ![]() ![]() It was a joy to watch this seasoned diplomat take the oaths and then deliver an inspiring speech that highlighted, among other things, reconciliation between our first peoples and the rest of Canada. I’m writing this on the day that witnessed an historic event-the installation in Ottawa of Canada’s first Inuk Governor General Mary Simon. The last few weeks have been an emotional rollercoaster for those of us who love this country.
